Is online booking absolutely necessary?

Yes: From 20 June to 20 September, a reservation is mandatory for the uphill journey to Oeschinensee. During this period, in addition to a valid ticket, you need a time-slot reservation for the uphill journey.

Outside this period, we strongly recommend booking online in advance – especially at weekends and on busy days. With an online ticket including a time slot, your transport is secured within the reserved time window.

If your plans change, you can change your time slot online free of charge at any time. Without advance booking, only any remaining ticket quota is available on site. Availability may be very limited or already completely sold out.

Important: There are no staffed ticket counters on site. Only a very small number of remaining tickets may be purchased at the ticket machines. Remaining tickets are mainly available before 09:00 and after 13:00 – provided that ticket quotas are still available.

Between 09:00 and 14:00, waiting times of several hours are possible when purchasing a ticket on site on busy days. If no remaining tickets are available, transport is not possible without an advance reservation.

If no regular time slots are available online, we generally recommend visiting Oeschinensee on another day and reserving your time slot online well in advance.
